Huntington Center
The Huntington Center is an 8,500 seat arena that primarily host large touring concerts and the Toledo Walleye hockey team. As part of the revitalization efforts of downtown Toledo, The largest venue in the area was built in 2008. At that time the Torrence Sound installed a QSC based system with processing, amplifiers, speakers and more to all integrate together. Torrence Sound was approached recently with not only replacing a DSP over 10 years old, But also re-thinking how and what could be done to make events more efficient. The answer was clearly QSC’s Q-SYS platform. The DSP had all of the processing needed to accommodate scene changes, system health diagnostics, customization and more! Being that the original amplifiers and infrastructure was QSC, Q-SYS was an obvious choice. Torrence Sound engineers teamed up with the everyday operators of the system and found the strengths and issues that were learned over the last 10 years. The benefits of Dante networking and an upgrade from an analog console to the Yamaha TF3 digital console all combine to help manage and control the system easily and efficiently. Working together, a system was created that is more intuitive, easier to use, and designed specifically for the arena. This amazing arena in the heart of Toledo deserves only the best, which thousands will enjoy in the hockey season and events coming up!
