Torrence’s Advanced Systems for Paulding-Putnam Electric Cooperative’s New Facility
Summary: Paulding-Putnam Electric Cooperative, Inc. (PPEC), a member-owned electric distribution utility in northwestern Ohio, recently constructed a new facility on McDonald Pike Rd. For this project, PPEC selected Torrence, a specialty systems contractor from Perrysburg, Ohio, with over 80 years of experience. Torrence was tasked with designing and building electronic systems to enhance the safety, security, and reliability of the new facility. The systems installed by Torrence included an advanced Honeywell Notifier addressable fire alarm and detection system, a Lenel door security and access control system, and a Salient Systems IP video for intrusion detection, all of which are network-integrated and can be monitored remotely, including via mobile smartphones. Additionally, Torrence provided Crestron-controlled audio-visual systems and video conferencing equipment for PPEC’s new training and conference center. PPEC has been serving more than 12,900 member-owners across several counties in Ohio and Indiana since 1935, with a commitment to providing reliable power in rural areas.
